This commission involved drafting the project and carrying out the works to adapt a home to the family’s needs. To achieve this, unused areas were removed and replaced with a large open space to serve as the living room, dining room, and kitchen, with the kitchen acting as the central link between the living and dining areas.
Project and site management for the adaptation of a family home in Mallorca
In the Senyor Rafel project, Joan March, Technical Architect, was responsible for the project design, health and safety study, material execution management, and health and safety coordination during the construction phase.
The assignment consisted of adapting an existing home to new family needs, optimizing the layout and improving the overall functionality of the living spaces. After analyzing how the property was used, it was decided to remove underutilized areas and reorganize the main floor, creating a large central space that integrates the living room, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen became the connecting element between both areas, enhancing natural light, spatial continuity and family interaction.
The work focused on achieving a more practical, bright and open layout, maintaining harmony with the original structure and paying special attention to construction details. The site management and technical supervision ensured that all planned solutions were executed correctly, materials met quality standards and each trade was properly coordinated throughout the process.
Over the six-month construction period, particular emphasis was placed on safety, efficiency and technical precision, monitoring each stage to guarantee compliance with current regulations and the expectations of the owners.
